Nammo receives funding for rocket motor expansion under Europe`s Defense Industry Program (EDIP) Raufoss, Norway, October 14, 2026 Nammo has been awarded EUR 25 million through the European Defense Industry Program (EDIP) Industry Ramp-up Acceleration (IRA) initiative for the ROCMAN project, one of eight strategic projects selected by the European Commission after a highly competitive process. The funding will support a significant expansion of Nammo’s solid rocket motor production capacity at Raufoss, strengthening Europe’s ability to deliver critical missile and ammunition capabilities. The EU contribution will be matched by the Norwegian Government, bringing the total public funding for the project to approximately EUR 50 million. ROCMAN will support the establishment of a fourth rocket motor production line at Raufoss, significantly increasing output and reducing lead times for solid-fuel rocket motors used in missile systems and artillery ammunition. The project will also strengthen resilience throughout the supply chain by enhancing site security, expanding access to critical raw materials and components, and establishing additional storage capacity in Germany to improve responsiveness and surge capability. “Europe needs a stronger and more resilient defense industrial base and this investment enables Nammo and our partners to expand capacity faster, strengthen supply security, and deliver the capabilities that allied armed forces need,” said Morten Brandtzæg, President and CEO of Nammo. ROCMAN is a collaborative project involving six European companies: Nammo Raufoss (Norway), Diehl (Germany), MICAM (Ireland), ARCEON (Netherlands), Magnaghi (Italy), and Fast Forward Architects (Belgium). The funding comes at a critical time as Nammo continues to invest heavily to meet growing demand for missile propulsion systems. The project will contribute to increased European defense readiness, strengthen industrial resilience, and support the sustained supply of critical capabilities to allied nations.
